How to Get Referrals
I’m a coach and I help coaches and other professionals market their services. Referrals are my lifeblood. Here’s what I’ve learned about them.
Who is your EZINE Really From?
One morning this past fall, I was going through my e-mail inbox, relentlessly deleting junk mail. As you’re likely well aware, many spam messages are made to look like they’re from a real person. One name briefly caught my eye: “Jeff Bezos.” But because I was in furious deletion mode, I didn’t recognize it. Also, it had a salesy subject line: “New Apparel Store Now Open.” So I hit the delete key. A few minutes later, it occurred to me that I knew that name — Jeff Bezos is the CEO of Amazon.com. I rescued the message from my delete folder and opened it. Turns out it was an announcement to all Amazon Associates (affiliates) about the opening of Amazon’s new online apparel store.
Is Your Ezine A Wealth of Information or A Sales Trap?
Ask successful ezine publishers what draws subscribers to their ezines, and you’ll be told one very important thing. Content, content, content. However, many would-be ezine publishers focus more on selling than they do on valuable information. They turn their attention toward making money instead of building relationships. If you follow suit, that practice will surely be the death of your ezine, my friend.
“What? Ezines are supposed to be this wonderful marketing tool. They are supposed to help me get more sales. What do you mean that selling will be the death of my ezine?”
Why You Need to Keep Your Website Updated
We’re all so busy, aren’t we? The days fly by, and before you know it – a week or a month has passed by. It’s easy to forget everything we have to do in today’s busy world.
But if you don’t keep your website updated, you’ll soon regret it. As quickly as things change on the Internet, you could find your site linking to nothing!
How embarrassing if a potential customer clicks a link on your site and gets a 404 error page. You sure won’t look very professional!
Demographic Trends, the Bottom Line, and the Case for Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace
There is a demographic trend of which HR personnel, management, and CEOs need to be aware. According to demographic trends analyst, Cheryl Russell, by the year 2005, the most common household in the US will be single-person households. “Never before in American history has living alone been the predominant lifestyle,” says Russell, and the time is fast approaching.

Dear Robin,
Investing In Real Estate
Fundamentally, you have three ways to make money when purchasing investment property. The first is to lease the property for an indefinite period at rents that exceed the cost of holding the asset. The second is to purchase the property with the intent of renovating it to substantially increase the value and selling it quickly. The third is to find properties that need to be liquidated quickly at a substantial sacrifice to equity. An investor can acquire these properties and immediately sell them for a substantial profit.
