Getting someone’s attention can be difficult these days; people have so many interests and so little time that convincing them to swing by a website can count as a real victory.  Unfortunately for Twitter, it’s also important to keep people around, and in this respect, statistics indicate that the micro-blogging service is failing rather miserably.

Will Twitter Replace Google in Search?

Has Google’s model of spidering and indexing web pages in an ordered list become obsolete? Is the old static model of search about to be replaced? Twitter Spam Not Likely to Kill Twitter

Like all popular services, Twitter gets abused too. Who would’ve thought? Will spam kill Twitter? Well, do you still use email?

Perhaps it’s unfair to compare Twitter, which is still pretty much in its infancy to a communication medium that has been around pretty much as long as the web itself, but with the momentum that Twitter popularity is gaining, I can’t see it being incredibly threatened real soon.

Twitter Temporarily Disables OAuth for Security Reasons

Twitter recently released a product called "Sign in with Twitter," which is basically the social network’s answer to Facebook Connect, Google Friend Connect, etc.

It’s based on OAuth, but there’s a security problem with OAuth. In fact, Twitter and Yahoo have both disabled OAuth support temporarily. Biz Stone talks a little bit about it on the official Twitter Blog:
