Twitter can be a lot of things for a lot of different people. However, according to online ad network Chitika, more of them want news than anything else. Chitika released results from a study of its users, looking at what Twitter users want.
Chitika categorized the sites that get the most links from Twitter. Here’s how it shakes out by genre according to the ad network:

Update: Kevin Rose is now saying that his WeFollow Twitter directory will now be "more closely linked" with Digg as they "experiment with user influence as it applies to the Twitter universe." In a company blog post, he writes:
Massive Click Fraud Ring Shut Down
One of the largest click fraud rings ever detected, originating from China, has been shut down by click fraud monitoring firm Anchor Intelligence.
"This is really the first time anyone has ever been able to catch click fraudsters ‘in the act.’ Anchor has identified fraudsters down to the publisher site, IPs used (likely via botnets), and even the names and address of some perpetrators," an Anchor spokesperson told Murdok.

Using Facebook And Twitter To Fight Depression
Monitoring posts on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace could help to prevent suicide, according to two researchers from New Zealand’s Victoria University.
Dr. Tiong-Thye Goh and student assistant Yen-Pei Huang have developed a decision support system to scan social networking sites to flag keywords that people between the ages of 18 and 24 are posting. A high proportion of certain keywords could mean that a user is at risk of depression, suicide and other mental disorders.
