Talking to the outside world in Excel 2003

Being able to code C# with Excel 2003 is great fun but now its time for something a bit more useful.

This next code sample shows how to connect to the internet inside of Excel. The idea is when the workbook opens the code behind the workbook searches for quotes on NASDAQ and then populates the spreadsheet with the data. You can imagine you could have a spreadsheet full of data which is retrieved from data sources on company servers and internet sources etc. As you can see coding for excel in C# allows you to leverage your C# skills and re-use them in the world of Excel spreadsheets.

Follow The Leaders

Why not pick one guru and follow his plan step by step until you achieve his results and make as much money as he does? Because you never will. Copycats never do. If you have ever purchased a brand new ebook, waited impatiently as it downloaded and then opened it to experience deja vu, you know what I mean. Instead I have another suggestion.

What Hiring Managers Really Look For In Resumes And Cover Letters

“There has also been a lot of spin about how long or short a resume should be. From my perspective as a recruiter, a resume should be as long as necessary. For example, a candidate with five years’ experience should not require a 3-page resume. Or, a candidate with 18 years’ experience should not be reduced to a 1-page resume. Length of resume depends entirely on each individual situation. There is no formula or rule etched in stone. If a recruiter is working with a Ph.D. candidate, then a resume may be 3, 4 or 5 pages, or even longer. So be it. If it’s relevant, promote it. If you’re pontificating, don’t.”

The Shocking Tax Benefits Of Section 179

Hi Wayne: What can you tell me about Section 179? I own a small business and have heard that I can obtain a substantial tax benefit by purchasing a new vehicle. I was told that to obtain the most benefit I should purchase a vehicle with at least 6000 lb. Gross Vehicle Weight. How much benefit could I expect and do I have to maintain ownership for any specific length of time? If I purchase late in the year can I still utilize the deduction? Is there anything I should be aware of that could bite me if I’m not careful?

Turning Personal Loans Into Business Payoff

Hi. My husband and I started a business and incorporated it Jan 24, 2001. We are a custom software development company. When we began, we used our own money to buy computers and other office needs, then, when we moved into a commercial office space in October of 2002, we took out loans in our own (personal) names using our own credit to fund the business moving into an office space and all the expenditures associated with this move (like office furniture, etc.). The reason we took out personal loans (and used personal credit cards) was that the business had no credit itself and we were really sure that neither a bank loan nor a credit card in the business’ name would be possible at that stage. Is there any way we can deal with the company paying off these debts? And how can we deal with this odd situation to minimize both business taxes and our personal taxes? And how can we re-seal the corporate veil, so to speak?
