Barnes & Noble has announced the launch of its own ebookstore and it will make content available on a variety of devices including the iPhone and iPod touch, BlackBerry, as well as most laptops and desktop computers.
Adobe Open Sources 2 Flash Frameworks
Adobe has announced two new Flash Platform open source initiatives: Open Source Media Framework (OSMF) and the Text Layout Framework (TLF). The former is part of the project previously known as Strobe.
Convenience Driving Online Banking Growth
More than two million U.S. households used online banking and bill payment last year, according to a survey sponsored by Fiserv and conducted by Harris Interactive.
A total of 69.7 million households with Internet access now use online banking services to access balance, account history and to transfer money between accounts. In addition, 64.4 million households pay at least one bill online at a bank website or at a company website.
A 3D Future for YouTube?
Google is testing 3D videos on YouTube. An interesting post in the YouTube Help Center was discovered by Search Engine Roundtable’s Barry Schwartz, and a Google employee is apparently using his "20% time" to work on the "stereoscopic player".

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing, and Google seems to have goofed up the scheduling of a commemorative doodle for its homepage. But the search giant’s arguably made up for that oversight (and then some) by launching Moon in Google Earth.

FriendFeed announced today that it has released version 2 of the FriendFeed API for beta testing. The focus, according to the company, is making the API simpler to use.

We do it regularly with the President of the US and now there is the same examination occurring with Tim Armstrong, the recently minted CEO of AOL. Much like our struggling economy AOL needs some real help and Armstrong was brought in to get the once high-flying Internet giant back among the ranks of the heavyweights.
