As you may know, Google’s Matt Cutts frequently answers user questions by posting videos to the Google Webmaster Central YouTube channel, and the latest one he tackled has to do with videos ranking for universal search on Google. Here is the question that Cutts received:
Google Improves Universal Results for Locations
Google is now showing images in universal search results for location queries. They have shown maps for some time, but the addition of images enriches the results that much more.
EveryZing Partners with NBC Universal on Video Search
Video ZEO firm EveryZing has closed an $8.25 Million round of funding from its existing investors, which include Fairhaven Capital, General Catalyst Partners, Accel Partners and BBN Technologies. EveryZing has also added GE and NBC Universal’s Peacock Equity Fund as an investor.
EveryZing will also be deploying its universal search and publishing solutions across a number of NBCU’s Internet properties. The goal is to improve the video search experience for some major media sites.

Allman Brothers Sue Universal Over Digital Downloads
The Allman Brothers Band has filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG) for around $13 million over royalties from CDs and digital downloads.The lawsuit seeks payment for some of the Southern rock group’s songs recorded for its first label Capricorn Records, from 1969 to 1980, when the band had such hits as "Melissa," "Ramblin’ Man," and "Midnight Rider."
Universal Strikes Deal With Wolfgang
If you are a fan of classic rock then you will be glad to know that music and memorabilia site Wolfgang’s Vault has struck a deal with Universal Music Group to make available vintage concert performances from artists such as The Kinks, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley.The addition of the acts will join the nearly 500 recordings currently available for download purchase at the site. The recordings include live performances from thousands of concerts produced by late promoter Bill Graham, along with classics from other catalogs going back decades.
