Social Media Influencing Purchase Decisions

More than half (54%) of consumers say that information from a brand representative is more valuable than what is usually found on a company Web site, according to new study, "The Impact of Social Media on Purchase Behavior" by research firm OTX on behalf of DEI Worldwide, a social media marketing agency.They found that 63 percent of consumers would like to share their opinions about a brand or product with a representative, and 67 percent are likely to pass along information from a brand representative to other people.

Mobile Social Network Users To Become More Active

People using mobile social networks today are primarily checking messages, status updates and comments of friends instead of posting photos or comments themselves, according to a new study by ABI Research.The study found that pattern is changing as more people have access to better mobile devices and social network applications that make it easier for uploading and communication.

Bebo Opens Up With Social Inbox

The AOL owned social networking site Bebo, has launched a "Social Inbox" that allows users to aggregate all of their social media into their profiles.The Social Inbox aggregates feeds and updates from Twitter, Flickr, Delicious, YouTube, and AIM. Users will also be able to access Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and AOL Mail in one-click. The new mail feature allows users to see previews of new email messages.Users of AOL and AIM will now be able to log directly into Bebo using their existing screen names.
