Recently, very active Digg.com users digging at a fairly rapid pace have been met with an error message advising them to slow down and actually read the story they’re digging.
An image of the message was dugg up to the front page. It reads:
“Whoa there cowboy! Itchy trigger finger? Digging so fast is lame. How about reading some stories instead?”
The economy’s problems have, in some corners, elicited comparisons between now and 1929. Other experts don’t even use the word "recession." However, it looks like the people in charge of the news sites run by Google and Yahoo are in a good position to visit the completely opposite side of the spectrum and focus on some silver linings.
Google’s stock is down because its rate of growth is down according to Google’s latest quarterly financial report. Google still had a 30 percent increase in payments from clicking ads, but that was substantially down from the 45 percent increase they had a year earlier.
