Today Yahoo introduced a new feature for its image search, which lets users refine searches based on specific locations. In other words, if you search for a place, you will get a menu on the left-hand side of the screen that points you to images of different points of interest from that location.
Hulu Makes Changes to Search Results

Multiple Search Feature Comes to Google Maps
Google has added a new feature to Google Maps, which allows you to perform multiple searches, while keeping them around for future reference. It’s hard to explain without an example.
On the Google Lat Long Blog, to illustrate the feature, they give the example of a search for the Road to Hana on Maui. They search for this, but also search separately for supermarkets, gas stations, and driving directions to Hana, HI.
Online Gamblers Search For Safer Sites
A survey of online poker players, following the seizure of gambling funds by the U.S. government has found more than half are not aware their money could be at risk.

Bing See Modest Search Gain In June
Microsoft’s share of U.S. Internet searches rose modestly in June with the launch of Bing accounting for 8.4 percent of queries, up from 8 percent in May, according to comScore.
Yahoo saw its search share fall to 19.6 percent, from 20.1 percent in May, while Google’s share remained flat at 65 percent.
In a report, Douglas Anmuth, an analyst for Barclays Capital, wrote he had been expecting Bing’s share to come in between 10 percent and 11 percent. He said the comScore data was good news to investors of Google and Yahoo concerned about Bing’s initial impact.
Retail Boosts Search Spending In Q2
Search spending from retailers was up 36 percent year-over-year in the second quarter across all major search engines, according to a new report from SearchIgnite.
The trend was not seen in other categories, such as travel and finance, and U.S. search spend was down 6.5 percent for the quarter.
Retail search spend increased steadily as the quarter went on, with June showing an increase in spend of 55 percent compared with June 2008.
