19 Year Old Runs Successful Search Engine FyberSearch
Nathan Enns developed FyberSearch, a non-Google and non-Yahoo related search engine, when he was 18 years old. According to his about page, Enns “is now 19 as of March 21st and continues to be the sole owner of the web and image search engine.” He created his engine out of frustration with current non-relevant search results.
Canada Ripe For Search Engine Ad Targeting
A study by comScore found that Canadians web users performed many more searches than their American counterparts. According to comScore’s test, “approximately 85 percent of the Canadian Internet population conducted at least one search at the top engines each month, compared to 73 percent of the U.S. population.”

Web Shopping Search Engine Use Jumps During Mother’s Day
Web users were out enmasse this past Mother’s Day weekend. Nielsen//NetRatings released a study that showed the amount of traffic to shopping-based search engines rose, in some cases, as much as 91%. Plaxo Contacts To Feature Yahoo Search
Contact management software creator Plaxo has announced that their newest version of their Contacts software, 2.0, will feature Yahoo Search capabilities. The software integrates with Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express. Yahoo Search will be the first search utility to be featured in a Microsoft email client. Plaxo Contacts 2.0 is due out in May 2004.
