David Ulevitch thinks network administrators have better things to do than manage expensive web filtering solutions; he also believes ‘free’ sounds good for a price tag.
Google Wants To Teach People About Audio Ads
We know that most people who haven’t played with Google Audio Ads are doing just fine. We also know that most people who haven’t played with Google Audio Ads aren’t even interested in them. But if you want a walkthrough, Google is hosting several free online seminars.
Writing For People And Search Engines
So, Merriam-Webster broke down and let "w00t" into its dictionary. Yeah, well, they’re trying to stay relevant. That doesn’t mean anybody should ever use this word outside of World of Warcraft or, at the most, instant messaging. How long do you think it will be before w00t is as silly as gnarly, tubular, radical waves (can you see the zinc-oxide on my nose, dude?) or those ridiculous Hammer pants?Word to your mother. More and More People Turning to Online Video
We appear to have two data points related to online video that are worth paying attention to. Number one: According to the BBC, Nielsen says that traffic to some online video sites has doubled since the Hollywood writers’ strike in October turned the TV into a wasteland of reruns and unfunny late-night talk shows (although it may be stretching things to call the Nielsen figure a data point, since I can’t find a report that has those numbers in it).

People Search is Getting Social
Wink.com says they’re the largest people search engine in the world. But to me, they look like a people meta-search engine, pulling their information from the web at large as well as from MySpace, LinkedIn and other people search engines. Now they’re expanding their site to include profiles.
For once, the connection between a product (the people search website) and a social network actually made perfect sense to me: you can “claim” your profile in search results, then add to it or modify it.
Could The Web Make People Nicer?
Do you ever think that the Web will evolve to reinforce what everybody used to be trained to have – you know, manners? Anonymous commentary’s a bit of an exception (though commentators have been traced), but you never know – maybe all this transparency and instant communication will lead us into era where we watch our mouths better.

Building a Bridge Between Your Story, Bloggers & People
Blogger relations is a popular topic of discussion these days, not just on the blogosphere, but within the HR departments of PR agencies and businesses alike. It’s something new and perceived to require a very different skill set than most PR and communications professionals possess.
