Only 35% Have Watched An Online Political Video

While 81 percent of adults who are online have watched videos only 35 percent have ever watched a political video online according to a Harris Interactive poll.When it comes to the type of political videos watched, 27 percent have viewed a news story about a campaign or candidate online, while 14 percent have watched a candidate interview and the same number a political speech. Only 11 percent watched a political advertisement and 10 percent a campaign video.

Antigua Wins Ruling In U.S. Online Gambling Case

A ruling from World Trade Organization arbitrators will allow the Caribbean nation of Antigua to suspend its intellectual property obligation to the United States to compensate for the U.S. prohibition of online gambling.The decision will allow Antigua to take copyright-protected U.S. goods, like CDs and software and sell them without copyright protection. The value of the goods can total up to $21 million annually to compensate for the financial loss the country has suffered.

Online TV Ads Engage Consumers

Consumers are 44 percent more engaged in advertisements featured in television programs they watch online than they are with the ads they see on a TV set according to Simmons, an Experian company.The study identifies engagement according to six factors that respondents associates with media. They are "inspirational," "trustworthy," "life enhancing," "social interaction," "personal timeout," and ad receptivity.

More TV Viewers Watching Online Videos

More television viewers are going online to watch videos, films and TV episodes according to a new poll from Harris Interactive.YouTube has expanded its lead as a site for online video viewing, while search engines and TV network sites are holding their own. Online video viewership has increased overall in the past year (81% versus 74%). Approximately 65 percent of the 2,455 U.S. adults surveyed say they have watched a video on YouTube, compared to 42 percent during the same time last year.

Online Holiday Spending Reaches $22 Billion

Online holiday spending between November 1 and December 14 increased 18 percent compared to the same time period last year reaching $22 billion according to comScore.Monday, December 10 reached $881 million in sales (up33 percent versus last year), registering as the heaviest online spending day of the season and the heaviest online spending day on record.
