Russian President Wants Cyrillic Internet Domain

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev says Russia needs to be assigned an Internet domain name in the Cyrillic script in an effort to promote Russian as an international language.The Kremlin is worried that Russian, once the main language in the Soviet Union is being used less because of local languages and the influence of English.Medvedev said that 300 million people worldwide used Russian media and that a Cyrillic domain name would play an important role in raising the importance of Russian as a language.

Well I’ve been using PicLens for a few months now, and I’m a bit late with this post, but if you haven’t installed PicLens yet for browsing photos on the web you are missing one of the most beautiful ways to view photography on the internet yet.The screenshot above does not do justice to the visual experience. PicLens is hands down the best I have ever seen photos look online.

The Internet Can Be A Distraction

Four weeks ago I had 5,250 emails in my inbox. Today? 10. What’s the difference? I’ve been on lots of airplanes in the past month. Why is that important? Because in airplanes there’s no Internet. Nothing to distract you. I find I can answer about 10x more email in a plane than I can on the ground when the Internet is there to distract me. That taught me an important lesson.

Virginia Schools To Teach Internet Safety

In an effort to prepare children and teens for the potential stranger danger on the Internet, Virginia is the first state to make Internet safety classes for all grade levels.It’s hard being first and one might imagine all 49 pairs of eyes (assuming one set of eyes per state, of course) will be on Virginia to see how educators implement the program, the messages used, and the methods by which the program is evaluated.
