LinkedIn has opened a new data center in Chicago. A post at the LinkedIn Blog says:LinkedIn has grown by leaps and bounds this past year and currently we are adding professionals to our site at the rate of one user per second. The primary goal for the LinkedIn Operations organization is for our site and partner applications to be available 24/7.
Chicago Sues eBay, StubHub Over Ticket Taxes
The city of Chicago is suing eBay and subsidiary StubHub for failing to collect an 8 percent amusement tax on tickets sold online.The city charges in the lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court that the two companies are "reseller’s agents" and are required under Chicago’s law to pay an amusement tax. The suit asks for a court order that will allow the city to audit the companies and hand out fines for not collecting and paying the tax.
Google Transit Adds Chicago’s Info
Thanks to the cooperation of the Chicago Transit Authority, Google Transit’s coverage now includes the Windy City. Chicagoans seem to be pretty pleased about the development.
