When it comes to trusting the press in general 54 percent of Americans say they do not trust them and 46 percent say they do not trust television while 41 percent say the do trust Internet news according to a new poll from HarrisInteractive.
More Americans Look Online For News
The majority of Americans (67%) say that traditional journalism does not provide what Americans want from their news, a new We Media/Zogby Interactive poll shows.The survey found that more than half of Americans (70%) think journalism is important to the quality of their communities but 64 percent are dissatisfied with the quality of journalism in their communities.
Americans Confused About DTV Switch
Close to half of over-the-air households reject post-transition pay TV and plan to receive free, over-the-air digital television by buying a converter box or digital TV set according to the Association of Public Television Stations study. About 43 percent of over-the-air households said they would purchase a converter box or a digital TV between now and when the transition takes place on February 17, 2009, compared to 12 percent who would sign up for a cable or satellite service.
