Firefox Kicking Microsoft Tail In Europe
Though Firefox usage has reached only 18 percent of the US market (quite the rise, actually), the browser is gaining much more ground in Europe, and the latest version is outpacing Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 7.
Will AOL Charge More Now?
Nielsen/Netratings has just started ranking Web brands. It does this by measuring “engagement” by total minutes spent with the brand and unique audience. Brands that had a large unique audience spending a long time engaged had the highest score. AOL came in first, followed by Yahoo!, then MSN/Windows Live, with Google coming in fifth.
Google Goofs Up “Bourne,” Threadless Contests?
Google’s “Bourne Ultimatum” and Threadless t-shirt contests both looked like fun – and potentially rewarding – activities, but they’ve (so far) failed to impress. The Bourne site is suffering from a number of technical problems; the Threadless competition appears to have outlawed a perfectly natural course of action.
Things To Remember When You Research Blogging
Forgive me. I err on the side of art. That means I don’t like formulas much. Formulas give us over-saturation of reality shows, twisted versions of pure originals, and Spice Girl reunions. Google-less Sharogle May Go On
Imagine if Google paid $1 for every search you performed – pretty cool, right? Now, Sharogle couldn’t afford nearly that rate, but it was, by all accounts, “a search engine that shares its revenue with users.” Emphasis on “was” – Google pulled its ads from the site, and Sharogle now faces an uncertain future.

Facebook (Sort Of) Surpasses MySpace In UK
MySpace is still beating Facebook in the UK – News Corp.’s site receives 41 percent more visits. But Facebook has just overtaken the older social network in terms of Internet searches, and this has big implications for the future.
Hearst Sells Stake In Local.com
We usually write about companies buying each other, but in this case, Hearst Corporation is going against the trend: it has sold its stake in Local.com.
Google Gets No Mention On Top Brands List
It’s somewhat surprising that this is Coca Cola’s first number one spot on Harris’s "Best Brands" poll, considering the amount of money the company spends on branding and the subsequent associations branding has built in the consumer mind.
Yahoo Buys Significant Stake In Tyroo Ad Agency
Yahoo and Google both appear dedicated to growing their presence in the Indian market, and to this end, Yahoo recently announced that it had bought a stake in Tyroo Media. Call this one a “significant investment” (as Yahoo does) – it’s equal to about 35% of the company’s value.
