Google Makes Amendments To IPO Filing
Google has made some amendments to its initial filing that was done for the SEC with the intention, it seems, of quelling fears that have risen about Google since it first filed in April 29, 2004.
Citing Search Result Counts Is Not News
Fox News reporter John Gibson argued that the BBC had displayed “a frothing-at-the-mouth” anti-American bias. In response to some complaints about this coverage Fox News said searching for the phrase “BBC anti-american” in the Google internet search engine resulted in 47,200 hits.
Using Scoring System to Combat PPC Click Fraud
Web analytics is an inexact science. Good news for the sellers in the traffic industry where 10-15% is considered a normal discrepancy between the publisher’s and advertiser’s campaign statistics; not so good news for the traffic buyers. This error margin is a fertile soil for a traffic inflation cottage industry (see Brittany Thompson’s recent article PPC Guerilla Tactics in Murdok). You know there is a problem when Google in its pre-IPO filings cites click fraud as one of the potential risks investors should worry about.
Positioning Your Business for Success
As the plane lifts off, imagine yourself reclining comfortably in your first class seat. You’re headed for San Francisco where you’ll be met by a driver and whisked to a luxury hotel with views of the bay. Where to Look for Your Next Project when Youre Writing for Profit
When my first book “Starting Your Own Business” was published way back in 1995, I thought that was it. I reckoned I’d never write another one. But I was wrong. Unheralded Java Filters Simplify Web-app Testing
Java filters, first introduced in the Java Servlet specification 2.3, are a powerful addition to any Java Web application toolkit, yet they probably are the most under-used and under-appreciated of the servlet components. These classes intercept requests coming into and responses coming out of the Java servlet container, allowing developers to inspect and manipulate these messages, as well as take other actions based on the messages’ content. Despite this useful functionality, many Java developers are unfamiliar with filters.
Why Build a Niche Website?
Larger is not necessarily better. Many people tell you to make tons of content but fail to explain exactly what quality content is. The biggest problem with growing extremely large is a complete loss of focus.
Are Hotmail and Yahoo! Blocking Gmail Invites?
Joel Johnson created a buzz by reporting that some Gmail invites and emails aren’t getting through to Hotmail users. Several reports also claim the emails aren’t getting through Yahoo! Mail filters.
Where does your Site Rank on Google?
If you have been involved with optimizing or promoting your website, you would have often searched your prominent keywords in search engines like Google to check where your site ranks. If you are having to deal with more than 20 to 40 keyword phrases, checking your site ranking in the first 30 results, across 10 major search engines can be a daunting task.
