Fun and Useful Things You Can Do with Domain Names

Before you become a “domain connoisseur,” you need to understand the advantages of owning more then one domain and what you can do with them:

1) Redirects: Maybe when you registered your site there were other names you liked as well, or perhaps you registered the .net version of your name. It’s very easy to point these names to your existing site so when someone types in one of these alternate domain names in their browser, they’ll still wind up at your site.

Your Business Through Your Customers’ Eyes

(Dear Old Dave)

There is a basic reality in marketing that is much too frequently ignored: most owners see their business through their own eyes instead of their customers’.

In truth, most business owners or managers, as a function of their own well-being, tend to focus only on what it will take to make a profit. And, their customers couldn’t care less about that.

Customers aren’t interested in how hard you work, how good or bad of a day you’ve had, how brilliant you have been in getting them into your store or to your web site. Customers only care about what’s in it for them; the benefits they get from a particular product or service.

Project Turn Around – Operation Rollout

No IT project ever follows a methodology to a tee. If they did, the success rate of projects would be far higher than the abominable success rates we constantly read and hear about or even worse, personally experience. No matter what you did yesterday, you can choose again today. Are you using that opportunity?

A Good Idea

One of the great challenges in life is to stay focused and not to go madly off in all directions. It makes so much sense, doesn’t it? How is it, then, that most people do not find it easy to stay on track with their goals? After all, they chose their goals, so they must be appealing!

Email Etiquette 101

If you do any type of business online you MUST realize the importance of email etiquette. When you press that send button, there’s no turning back, you’ve just sent out your email salesperson. Who would you like to represent you and your business? A well dressed, personable, well spoken salesperson or someone in sloppy clothing, slewing slang, and spewing double negatives and run-on sentences like rain?

The impression your email message gives your customer holds in it’s hands the life or death of your sale. It will determine whether you acquire a customer or a disinterested passerby who’ll delete your email without a second thought.

Web Site Redesign – from Stagnation to Rejuvenation

When surfing the Web these days, you often come across web sites that suffer from stagnation – they look old, obsolete or appear to have been designed by an amateur. Your web site needs continuous improvement to capture and engage your visitor’s attention. If not, they can easily click away to your competitor’s site.

5 steps to prevent web site stagnation

1. Define a clear purpose – when visitors arrive at your site, they should immediately know what your site is all about. You should introduce this in your first paragraph. A graphic may help to supplement your explanation.
