Company Simplifies eBay and Amazon Shopping

Pluck unveiled the new Pluck Perch feature for its web browser companion application that makes it easier for people to shop on eBay and Amazon.com.

The new feature, which works much like an RSS reader does for news, allows individuals to set up folders that regularly search for products and update shoppers about the availability and price changes for items they’re looking to purchase. This helps users find the best deals on exactly what they need, without having to continuously visit the sites to repeat searches.

Currently, when users are looking for items on eBay and Amazon, they often must visit the sites multiple times and conduct the same research over and over again. With Pluck Perch, searches run automatically in the background. When an item of interest is found, a link to the item’s web page plus pertinent product shopping information is pulled into a folder and the user is alerted. When the Perch detects new product offers or price changes the information is updated and highlighted. The user can then easily sort and filter the results to make quicker purchase decisions.

“More than 43 million people shop on eBay and Amazon.com every week and this holiday season that number is expected to skyrocket,” said Dave Panos, co-founder and CEO of Pluck. “As everyone knows, finding the hottest holiday items can be challenging. But with Pluck Perch, it’s like having your own personal web shopping assistant always on the lookout for items you want, making the whole process much easier.”

Pluck is a free web browser companion application that greatly improves the way users search, retrieve, organize and share information found online. Using Pluck’s full range of capabilities, including the new Perch feature, eBay and Amazon.com enthusiasts can now get more from their online experience by using Pluck to:

— Continuously retrieve new item listings. Pluck regularly scans eBay and Amazon.com marketplaces for items of interest. When items are found, a user is quickly notified and item summaries are automatically pulled into custom folders. With just one click, the user can visit the item’s web page on eBay or Amazon.com to make the purchase.

— Interactively slice-and-dice hundreds of listings in a single window. Users can search, sort and filter Perch results and view them in a “double-pane view,” similar to what a user sees in Microsoft Outlook when the preview pane is activated. In addition, new and updated items are highlighted, making reviewing Perch results easier. Users can instantly sort hundreds of results by bid count, price, manufacturer and other shopping criteria. Filters can also be applied to further pinpoint items of interest.

— Collaboratively review listings. Pluck allows users to create shared “active” folders and invite family members or friends to view and add eBay and Amazon.com item listings and comments. This feature is perfect for creating and sharing “wish lists.” It’s also helpful for collaborative purchases on big-ticket items, such as automobiles, computers and electronics.

The Pluck Perch feature is included in the newest version of the Pluck web browser companion application. Pluck Perch supports eBay, Amazon.com, Google, and MoreOver searches.
