Create Visibility For Yourself

Everyone in business has one thing in common. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a salesman, a coach, a dentist, an artist, a lawyer, running a nonprofit organization or a work-at-home-mom What we all need is to have people know about us. We can be the very best in all the world at what we do, but if we haven’t got any customers, clients, or patients what good will it do us?

Control Employees By Controlling Yourself

Dear EQ Coach:
My administrative assistant is quite young (22) and often displays her emotions in an inappropriate manner when things aren’t going well at home or with her family. Though I think I treat her very compassionately, and grant her a lot of flexibility, there are times that her sour, combative moods become unbearable-especially when at these times she also often arrives late to work and doesn’t perform her tasks with care or accuracy and does not provide me the assistance I need in a timely manner. How can I tell my assistant that her behavior and attitude are unprofessional and not acceptable without making things worse?

Original Content: The Benefits Of Writing It Yourself

One question that comes up often when I speak to businesspeople about E-Newsletters is, “How important is it for us to write original content?” I’ve been fielding this particular question long enough to know that what’s really being asked is, “Can we just get somebody else to write this for us?”

Much to the disappointment of the questioners, my answer has always been a resounding, “No!”

Prepare Yourself and Get Hired

The interview is an opportunity for you and the candidate to gather information. The company wants to know if you, the candidate, have the skills, knowledge, self-confidence, and motivation necessary for the job. You can be sure that your resume and cover letter grabbed the employer’s attention. Their goal is to determine whether you will fit in with the organization’s current employees and philosophy. Likewise, you will want to evaluate the position and the organization, and establish if they will fit into your future career plans. The interview is a two-way exchange of information. It is an opportunity for both parties to market themselves. The employer is selling the organization to you, and you are marketing your skills, knowledge, and personality to the employer.

The Art of Questioning Yourself Well

Have you ever heard someone say, “I’ll just have to accept my fate”? I’ll bet you have. Did you find it an empowering thing to hear? Of course, there are several possible interpretations of the remark. It could mean that the person believes they have done everything in their power to bring about the outcome they desire. Then they are willing to accept their fate. On the other extreme, it could mean, “I have no control at all. I’ll have to take what life hands out to me.” It is the latter that saddens me. How about you?

Publishing a Book – How to Do It Yourself

To begin: Write your book. Get a tough editor to go over your work and tell you where you need to do more. Expect to do this at least twice. I generally rewrite my books 5-7 times before they are published. I put 5000 hours into writing the Breast Health book; my editors put in another 5000 hours!! You can get started on the first three steps (below) while you are still writing.
