Here we go again. More rumors of Twitter being acquired by some company. This time it’s not Google, Microsoft, or Facebook. It’s Apple. I’m taking this (as should everyone else) with a baseball-sized chunk of salt at this point, but when these rumors start to swirl, we can’t just ignore them entirely.
So here’s what the rumors are based on. Owen Thomas of Valleywag writes:

I talked with Microsoft’s Surface computing team today. Here’s some more details I learned.

The rumors of a deal between eBay and StumbleUpon may soon become facts – the latest report indicates that the two companies are in “advanced talks.” And this news comes straight to you from “people familiar with the matter.”
A deal between Google and Dell has finally come to fruition: some computer owners, after booting up for the first time, are being greeted by the phrase “Welcome to your new Dell PC – in partnership with Google.”
It appears that the good people of Google may have a bit more fine-tuning to do on one of their newer products. Users have reported experiencing a few glitches as they tried to take advantage of Google Checkout. Long delays are also trying the patience of some.
Yahoo, AOL, and MSN all have taken steps to make more of the subscription-based world available to others.
Project work is all about things, right? It’s about requirements and specifications. Selecting the technologies to use. Making sure the technical work fulfills the business needs and product definition. Project schedules and budgets and ship dates and installation plans. But is it possible that project work is also about people connecting and working with people?
