Yahoo Will No Longer Support Old Versions of Messenger

A while back, Yahoo announced it would be retiring old versions of Yahoo Messenger – versions 6.0 through 7.5. They have now set a date for it at the end of the month – September, 30.

Yahoo Messenger users who are using anything older than 8.0 will no longer be able to sign in and use the service. Obviously, that means it’s time to upgrade, if you still intend to use Yahoo for your instant messaging.

‘MySpace Local’ Helps Support Local Music

It’s been said that all politics is local and perhaps the same could be said for music. Not only do many fans love to support local music, but they want to know the best places to see it.  Bands too, want to know which are the best places to perform. But like a voter choosing between candidates, which one is for them?  Which choice are other members of their tribe supporting? 

Apple’s Wozniak Turns to Social Media for Dancing with Stars Support

Update 2: Woz is done. His efforts may have kept him around longer than he would have made it otherwise, but in the end, he just didn’t make it.

Update: Woz has survived another round of Dancing with the Stars for all of you who want to stay up to date without having to watch the show.

Rufus Edmisten, former attorney general and secretary of state for North Carolina turned Philip Morris/Sprint/Alltel lobbyist, was informed of my occupation more than once—web journalist, I told him—which didn’t seem to register on any particular level with him.
