Driven by YouTube, sites run by Google led the comScore Video Metrix rankings for March 2007.
YouTube Streams, Lycos Mixes
YouTube has added some new services to their site. They now allow users to organize video clips around categories. A number of online publications are reporting that YouTube has recently launched TestTube on their site.
After doing some research it became clear that TestTube is not a new feature to YouTube and it has been around since December 2006 as reported here. Maybe it is a case of Internet amnesia. I will briefly cover these not so new features anyway.
Video Streams And Ads
Close to 25 billion media streams were shown in 2006, according to a new report by Accustream iMedia Research. The study focused on all entertainment and media sites, including ad-supported and subscription services. It did not include user-generated video.
Fox, Yahoo! Share Lead In US Video Streams
Though Yahoo! has the largest video streaming audience (but just barely), Fox Interactive Media streams 20 percent of the US-initiated videos on the Internet, according to comScore. YouTube, just 21 months old, is third all around.
Confirmed: 100 Million Daily YouTube Streams
When YouTube announced this summer that they had surpassed the 100 million video streams per day mark, the media picked it up and ran with it while skeptics sat back in disbelief – a disbelief that can still be found in the blogosphere. comScore recently released a report confirming YouTube’s numbers.
Yahoo, MySpace Lead US Video Streams
While YouTube has been the buzzworthiest video site in the news this year, the latest comScore report shows that while YouTube continues to grow, it has a little ways to go before it can catch up with MySpace and Yahoo in terms of number of viewers and number of videos per user.
Network TV Hits The Streams, iPods
CBS sitcoms get the Yahoo streaming video treatment for a week, while NBC posted a free video clip from “Saturday Night Live” to iTunes.
The Ultimate Business Model – Creating Residual Income Streams
Every successful business has understood and mastered one basic principle. That principle can be summed up in two words: Repeat Business.
Comcast Streams NHL Over Broadband
Telecom company Comcast announced on Tuesday they would provide free streaming access of the NHL to its 7.7 million broadband subscribers. This is news for both Comcast, who lags behind some major opponents and the NHL, who’s rebuilding after the yearlong strike.
Search Engines And Streams
A Hitwise report for August on US search engines shows who depends on their portals to feed their search boxes.
