Mozilla has launched a new directory with the goal of providing a one-stop shop for open web tools and resources for developers. It is called the Open Web tools Directory.
The reason Mozilla says it decided to start this directory is simply because there isn’t one like it. "There’s no central index of these tools," the company says in a blog post.
The photos that rotate through Bing’s homepage are, at least from an aesthetic standpoint (we mean no disrespect to the search engineers), one of the best things about the site; it’s always a pleasure to stop by and see some interesting scene. And now artistic types are getting a chance to contribute thanks to the new Bing Photo Contest.
If there’s one thing that’s sure to turn the heads of bargain-seekers, it’s the word "free," and a new eBay program capitalizes on this fact by waiving some insertion fees. Unfortunately, there is a catch or two, and the auction company doesn’t seem likely to win over many of its critics with this move.
Google has now made it easier to find maps created by others using My Maps. They are starting to show links to completed user-generated maps when they deem it relevant to a query.

Recently, very active Digg.com users digging at a fairly rapid pace have been met with an error message advising them to slow down and actually read the story they’re digging.
An image of the message was dugg up to the front page. It reads:
“Whoa there cowboy! Itchy trigger finger? Digging so fast is lame. How about reading some stories instead?”
Google has started a program in which resellers can begin selling Google Apps to businesses. Naturally, you would sell the apps to customers, and then kick up money to Google.
Never mind partridges, pear trees, turtledoves, and so forth. To a certain search giant, one of the best presents it can give seems to be the gift of itself. Google’s counting down the days to 2009 by presenting tips on how to use its various products and services.
eHarmony is releasing a new same-sex matching service starting by the end of March. This service is the product of legal problems the company has been dealing with out of New Jersey and California. A gay man in Jersey sued the company for not catering to same-sex relationships as a violation of his rights in the state of New Jersey, and earlier in the year, a gay woman from San Francisco filed a suit against the company for being denied access to eHarmony’s service because of her sexuality.
Last month, Google had incorporated a new feature in Google Maps, called ‘Street View’. Besides fetching directions for a destination, this feature enabled users to view images of their destination and its routes as well.
