Google has launched several new features for Google Blog Search today. These are: RSS AND Atom feeds, an iGoogle gadget, a "hot queries" features, and a "latest posts" feature.
RSS and Atom Feeds
Google says the addition of the feeds has been its most requested feature for Blog Search. Users can subscribe to specific topics or stories. There is a "subscribe" heading in the left-hand column on the site, and underneath that are links for Atom and RSS.
Real-time search may (together with semantic and/or mobile search) be the next big thing; with some individuals putting out scores of public messages per day, we need a way to organize them. And now, Microsoft’s taken a step in the right direction by "bringing a bit of Twitter to Bing."

AOL’s Truveo, which touts itself as the 2nd largest video search engine both in the US and worldwide, has relaunched its site for 17 countries. The company says the update makes it easier than ever to find video on the web.
We caught up with Michael Gray at SMX Advanced in Seattle and talked a little bit about realtime search. Now, realtime search is one of those super buzzy concepts that meets all the criteria as the ‘Next Big Thing’. It’s so big, Google is supposed to be afraid of it. It’s so awesome, it’s going to change politics in the Middle East. Why, the way people are going on, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if I got up in the morning and realtime search already had my coffee ready.
I am a strong believer in the idea that comments increase the value of articles. This holds true on small blogs as well as large news sites. Comments expand the conversation, and can provide insight into the original subject matter that was lacking from the piece to begin with.
Youtube is supposedly the second largest search engine. It only makes sense that the video site’s search capabilities should be expanded. that is just what YouTube has been working on. This week, they have added some new ways to customize your search experience, and hopefully better find the videos you are looking for.
