Google has launched new image results pages for Android, iPhone, and iPod Touch devices in the US, the UK, and Japan. With the new results, users can scan up to 20 images on a single results pageand get details for images of interest.
More Results Visualized on Google Maps
When you search for local businesses on Google Maps, you will now see more than just ten results at a time plotted on the map. While the initial ten will still be plotted by pins and letters as before, you will see dots representing many more search results.
How is Google Weighing Forum Results?
There is an interesting thread going on at the WebmasterWorld forum looking at whether or not Google favors forums in search results. Matt Cutts tells me that he can neither confirm nor deny this. The thread is started by someone with the handle "bouncybunny," who posts:

I have no empirical evidence for this, but it seems to me that Google is increasingly returning results from forum posts…
Is Google Showing Political Bias with Search Results?
There are people who think Google is incorporating political bias into search results. As examples they use misspellings of George Bush and Barack Obama. Are the results of misspelled queries really something Google would take the time to specifically alter to inject their political beliefs though?

SearchWiki allows users to move specific results up or down in rankings so that they appear in the preferred order when the same search is done in the future.

Google Announces Third Quarter Results
Google has released its third quarter results, and things are looking all right so far. The company managed to bring in $5.54 billion in revenue, and this was up from both last quarter and the third quarter of last year. Net income increased in a similar manner, reaching $1.35 billion.Eric Schmidt wasn’t as positive as he’s been at other times, giving Google some wiggle room in terms of short-term performance, but seems to feel that things are solid and the company is heading in the right direction.
