Google Trends, SEO Create Hacker Perfect Storm

It used to be one was at most risk of getting a computer virus via spam or frequenting bad Internet neighborhoods (places one probably shouldn’t be hanging out in the first place, picking up just any old download they come across). These days malware pushers have come out in the open where the masses collect, and places like Google, Facebook, and Twitter are starting to resemble the Time Square of old—with peril and vice all around.

Hosted Content, The Quest for the Perfect Link

Ask Google, search engines love links. Of course, they love some links more than others. For example, a simple link exchange (reciprocal link) doesn’t have as much value to search engines and so, it doesn’t receive the same weight as a non-reciprocal (one-way) link – the theory being that a one-way, in-bound link is a recommendation from a site owner to visit this linked site. The link, itself, is testament to the quality of the site being referred.

The Perfect Ad Quest

Paul Slogan from Business 2.0 recently wrote a great article on the quest for the perfect online ad.

He discusses how although Google is the king of search, users only spend 5% of their time searching. With users spending 95% of their time on the Internet engaged in non-search related activities, how can you target them? I don’t think there is an answer, but here is how I would go about creating the perfect ad.
