A new report by Borrell Associates says that local online video advertising will account for $371 million this year, which is 5 percent of total online ad spending. In 2012, that amount will climb to $5 billion and will account for 35 percent of local online advertising budgets, Borrell projects in its report, “The New Frontier: Local Online Video Advertising.”

Miller Brewing has named Publicis-owned Digitas to head its digital marketing business. Digitas will be developing interactive programs across Miller’s entire brand portfolio. Agency.com handled most of Miller’s previous digital work
Nonprofits And Online Donations
Convio, an online software provider has released its Online Marketing Nonprofit Benchmark Study that finds online donations have increased with an average growth rate of 27 percent. The data is based on the analysis of online donations, email addresses, Web traffic and Web site registrations for 30 Convio clients from July 1,2005 to June 30, 2006.
Software For Small Online Businesses
While online sales increased during the 2006 holiday season, some small online business owners found that they missed an opportunity to increase sales because they were not prepared to sell their products or services online.
The Global Online World
The US currently has the largest Internet market in the world with 181.9 million Internet users in 2006, but China with 133.5 million users is set to surpass the US by the end of the decade. Japan trails with 87.2 million users followed by Germany with 39.4 million users and the UK round out the top five with 35.1 million Internet users.
Globally the number of Internet users is set to increase. Morgan Stanley projects that by the end of 2007 there will be over 1.3 billion Internet users worldwide.

Online Dating To Reach $932 Million
The US online dating market continues to grow but faces a slow down in the number of users paying for access, according to a study by JupiterResearch. European online dating sites are growing as well and are attracting new users. Revenues will double from 243 million euros in 2006 to 549 million euros in 2011, according to the JupiterResearch online dating forecast.
Time, TV Guide To Offer Online Video
On Monday, Time and TV Guide will separately announce partnerships with Brightcove, a prominent online video distributor, aimed a developing proprietary platform to offer video content to subscribers of both magazines.
One of the Time’s primary goals is to significantly boost the video content on Time.com and eventually for its other publications, which include Fortune, Money, Sports Illustrated and Entertainment Weekly.
A Look At The Online Travel Market
When it comes to making travel arrangements 37 percent of consumers choose to go online and use a suppliers Web site directly while 20 percent of consumers use online travel agency Web sites. Still 43 percent of consumers say “It depends” which option they will choose according to a survey by market research firm eVOC Insights and RelevantView.
Online Vehicle Listings With Video
CDMdata Inc., a Kelley Blue Book company, has signed a deal with SiSTeR Technologies, an online retail multimedia content provider that will allow dealers to add short video presentations of vehicle listings to CDMdata customers.
