MySpace announces that they will launch MySpace Music, a service to rival Apple’s popular iTunes music player and marketplace. Like iTunes, MySpace Music will feature streaming music, paid DRM-free MP3 downloads and music-related merchandise.

Before I could publish the update below, Eliot Spitzer’s call girl’s MySpace page had changed at least five times in two hours. It’s currently owned by "?". At least that’s what it says at this address, assumed earlier to be Ashley Dupre’s profile.

UPDATE: Ashley’s (Kristen’s, Spitzer’s girl’s) MySpace page has disappeared once again, and is replaced by someone named Johnny. The article to follow was written earlier before this revelation. I can’t be certain because I didn’t take a screen shot, but when I first pulled up Ashley Alexandra Dupre’s (aka Kristen, aka Spitzer’s girl) MySpace page, I’m fairly certain she had nine friends listed. I noted it because I thought it was ironic considering the number of the client.
Google Losing Out On MySpace Ad Deal
Users of social networks are spending less time on sites like Facebook and MySpace and it could be due to the number of ads.The average amount of time spent by users on social networking sites decreased by 14 percent over the past four months according to comScore. MySpace has seen its users dip from 72 million in October to 68.9 million in December, comScore says. The total number of users is still growing at an 11.5 percent rate, but that’s a decrease from past growth rates.
MySpace Profile Lands School Cop In Hot Water
An on-campus police officer for a Florida middle school is under a criminal investigation because of his MySpace account.
One of the people on his friends list had a link on their profile that led to an Internet porn site. Gulf Middle School resource officer John Nohejl is being investigated by the New Port Richey Police Department and the Florida attorney general’s cyber crimes unit for making the site available to underage children.
