Local search engine YellowSpaces has introduced a free application for iPhone and iPod Touch users called "iLPS."
iLPS offers maps and driving directions with one tap, helping users get where they need to go. Mobile searchers using iLPS are presented with a map view first, allowing them to decide which business location they want based on how close it is to them.
Once a selection is made, additional business details are offered including the business phone number, address, website along with driving, biking and walking directions.

YouTube Launches New Way for Brands to Engage Audience
YouTube has just launched a new engagement product for YouTube Brand Channels called the YouTube Mosaic. What it does is present an image covering nearly the entire screen of a channel, and it is made up of colors and shapes from a bunch of individual videos.
"The idea is that users no longer just browse on a company’s channel, but they can also actively experience the brand in new and exciting ways, which could lead them to identify more strongly with it," Victoria Katsarou of YouTube Communications tells Murdok.
Google Launches Interaction Reports for Local Business Ads
As you are probably aware, Google offers local business ads, which are essentially AdWords ads associated with specific business locations. They appear on Google Maps, Google, and across Google’s ad network.
Earlier this year, Google announced the addition of four new links for these ads – "Get Directions," "Street View" where available, "Save to My Maps," and "Send." The links were introduced as an effort to help people better locate the business that was being advertised.
Amazon Launches Kindle Store For iPhone
Amazon has introduced a new version of its Kindle Store that is optimized for the Safari Web browser on the iPhone.
In March, Amazon launched an application that makes ebooks sold on its site readable on Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch devices.

Desperate times apparently call for colorful, interactive measures. Even as we remain stuck in the recession – Chrysler declared bankruptcy today, if you didn’t hear – Google unveiled DoubleClick Studio, a tool that promises to help users develop and produce rich media ads.
Reddit Launches Video Site
Reddit has launched a new video site called Reddit TV (located at Reddit.tv). The site pulls videos from the "what’s hot" section of Reddit and places them into a video-dedicated site organized by channel.
AOL Launches Old-School Political Site
AOL’s MediaGlow has launched a new political news and blog site called PoliticsDaily.com.
PoliticsDaily.com features a mix of political views and will focus on in-depth political analysis instead of breaking news. AOL says as more people go online for political news and information that its new site will offer information across the political spectrum.
Symantec Launches Online Safety Service For Parents And Kids
Symantec has officially launched OnlineFamily.Norton, an Internet safety service designed to help parents monitor their children’s online activity.
The launch coincides with the start of Internet Safety Week, which began today. The service is available for free until January1, 2010.
