Companies put all sorts of time and effort into getting people to search for certain terms. This happens with the expectation that people will then visit corporate sites, but a fresh Hitwise report relays the somewhat threatening news that about 13 percent of searchers wind up somewhere else.

Domains containing the word “search” in China were hijacked yesterday… pointing to search engine Baidu (and partly, another government website).
Founder: News Corp. Hijacked MySpace
Brad Greenspan, who says he, not Chris DeWolfe or Tom Anderson, founded MySpace.com, is accusing News Corp. and MySpace’s parent company, Intermix, of defrauding shareholders out of $20 billion. Greenspan filed suit with other shareholders in federal court, asking that MySpace be released from News Corp. control.
Blogger.com Hijacked (Briefly)
What looks like a “just because we could” type of hack, Google’s Blogger.com was hijacked through the “Blogger Developer Network Blog” page. The hack allowed anyone administrator status and the priveledges that come with it.

Panix Domain Hijacked
Panix, an Internet service provider for the New York area, was the victim of a domain hijacking this past weekend. The attack has put the ISP in a recovery mode as they effort to restore the domain back to normal.
