Before we get too deep into this, let me clarify two things. When I say without a “plan”, I mean without a formally written business plan – not that you should be clueless about what you want to do. And, when I say startup funding, I’m talking more about early stage seed funding via angels (though most of these tips should apply to VCs as well).
Eons Earns $22 Million In Funding
It’s not every day that a press release begins with the words “BOOM BOOM BOOM,” and yet that’s exactly how Eons, a media company that caters to the 50-plus crowd, chose to announce its receipt of a fresh $22 million in funding. It looks like there’s plenty o’ life in Eons yet (and hopefully in its users, as well).
Wikio Receives $5.3 Million In Funding
Wikio, which is basically a European version of Digg (more on that later), just received a considerable amount of funding to continue its growth. Reports indicate that Lightspeed Venture Partners and Gemini Israel Funds have endowed the company with $5.3 million.
