Yahoo announced today that users of Yahoo Mail, My Yahoo, Yahoo Connected TV and Zimbra email will find a number of new third-party apps and widgets that will give them quicker access to things they do online everyday.
To put this in perspective, Yahoo says that in the US, an average of 85 sites are visited per person, per month. The idea is that if you use these apps and widgets on Yahoo sites, you won’t have to go to all of those other sites. The company offers the following slideshow:
Frequent flyers say staying connected via Wi-Fi is their top priority when traveling, according to a new survey by American Airlines and HP.
Nearly half (47%) of business travelers said Wi-Fi was the most important airport amenity, outscoring basic travel needs such as food by nearly 30 percent.
"We know that our business customers rely on technology to be as productive as possible while on the road," said Manuel de Oyarzabal, Director – Customer Research at American Airlines.
A UK based organization, The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), is warning young people who are heavy text message users about text message injury.The group found text message injuries are common among young people. In a recent survey of 177 people between the ages of 16 and 24 found that 34 percent send 20 or more text messages a day.Sixteen percent of 16-24 year olds said they had experienced discomfort in their hands when they text and a small number have felt pain in their wrists, arms, neck, and shoulders.
Since 1997 I have had several job changes as a result of downsizings, market crashes or company foldings. During some of the breaks in employment I worked as an independent consultant. Prior to that I had a fairly stable employment history. This recent spate of job changes usually comes up at interviews.
