Yahoo has revamped its paid inclusion program and it appears to be the forefront of a push to revitalize this archaic submission format. More on the history of paid inclusion and my opinion later, for now let us review the changes.
What Does it Cost to Submit to Yahoo?
Engadget announced a number of updates to its site this morning, including a “refreshed” design and “a bunch of new features that should make Engadget a little more user-friendly.” Reactions have been mixed, but mostly positive.
It’s no secret that PRWeek is undergoing a redesign, an annoying little countdown teaser has been flashing on the home page for a while now, but from an outsider’s perspective, it seems that bigger changes are already a foot; changes in how the publication approaches its content.
It even surprised me. Yes, even though I have been pointing out the possibility since July, and was forced by demand to release my study findings before my book was even half finished, I was shocked when I heard the news as well.
MSN has rolled out a new look for their search engine. MSN Search is now featuring a newly designed home page, as well as redesigned search results pages. Not only equipped with a new look, Microsoft has also altered the method in which they deliver information to the user.
I just had to laugh! During a recent conversation about how often you should change your copy, I had one person tell me “Well, if there were any *good* copywriters out there, they’d be able to write it once, and it would work forever!” Oh really? Actually, nothing could be further from the truth.
I’m going to try ro be brief, but it’s not always possible. 😉
1) The site is right away to plain. Plain can be good in moderation but in this case everything contrasts, it gives off a feeling of old and outdated…why trust it?
