The Monster Employment index, which is a monthly gauge of U.S. online job demand, went down 29% in the past year. It actually went down a couple points after rising slightly in April. It might not be all bad news though.
Warner Launches On Demand Service For Classic Films
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group (WBHEG) has announced it has launched an on – demand DVD and digital downloading service offering movies from its library before 1986.
At WarnerArchive.com, movie fans can choose from more than 150 classic titles that have never been available on DVD or for digital download. Some of the titles include Academy Award nominee "Sunrise at Campobello," "The Citadel," and "Mr. Lucky."

The feature that everyone is talking about is the ability to add pages on-demand to be indexed by site search, so customers have access to these new pages as soon as they’re ready.
Online Job Demand Rising Again
The number of online jobs went up according to the Monster U.S. Online Jobs Index. The increase marked the end of a three-month decline, indicating that employers are preparing for the fall hiring season. In August, online job availability went up in 14 of the Index’s 20 industry categories and in 13 of the 23 occupational categories measured. Still, the index is 14% lower than it was a year ago.

CBSSports.com said today that it would no longer require users to register for its NCAA March Madness on Demand video.
Last.FM Adds On-Demand Service
Last.FM has added a new on demand song streaming service with the support from all four major labels and 150,000 indie labels and artists from distributors including The Orchard, CD Baby, IODA, Naxos. Users can listen to a track free up to three times, after which they are pointed iTunes, Amazon or 7Digital for purchase.
Yahoo, Sony BMG Partner Over Video-On-Demand
Destination Handycam seemed like a marketing ploy as much as the result an important partnership, but the site, which was worked on by both Sony and Yahoo, may have led to the current development: a deal relating to music and video content.
