Illegal file sharing in the UK has declined, most notably among teens, according to media and technology research firm The Leading Question.
The last national survey taken in December 2007, found 22 percent of teens regularly filed shared music tracks, but in January 2009 this was down to 17 percent, a comparative drop of nearly a quarter.
The biggest drop in those regularly file sharing occurred among 14-18 year olds. In 2007 42 percent of 14- 18 year olds were sharing files at least once a month. In January 2009 this was down to just 26 percent.
Online Job Demand in the US Declines
The Monster Employment index, which is a monthly gauge of U.S. online job demand, went down 29% in the past year. It actually went down a couple points after rising slightly in April. It might not be all bad news though.
Click Fraud Rate Declines In Q1
Click fraud declined in the first quarter of 2009 to 13.8 percent, according to Click Forensics’ Click Fraud Index.
That’s down from the all-time high of 17.1 percent reported for the fourth quarter of 2008 and from the 16.3 percent rate reported for the first quarter of 2008.
CPC Declines on Big 3 Search Engines, ROI Strong
Average cost-per-click in the US declined last year on the big three search engines according to research from Efficient Frontier. Google’s fell 14%, Yahoo’s fell 16%, and Microsoft’s fell 28% over a year’s time (via CNET). Essentially the study indicates that less money was spent per search ad.
Search Activity For Hybrids Declines
Searches for fuel- efficient vehicles have decreased as gas prices have begun to drop according to Cars.com Consumer Search Index.
Conference Board Shows US Economy Declines
A drop in the leading index for the month of May follows a period of no change in April for the American economy.
Consumer Confidence Index Declines
The Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Index, after improving in January, went down in February.
Number of Inappropriate and Potentially Sensitive Email Attachments Declines
MessageLabs today announced that the number of inappropriate and potentially sensitive images sent as email attachments has declined over the past six months in comparison to the same period last year.
