Yahoo Launches New Contacts API

Yahoo has launched a new Contacts API, which uses OAuth. With the API, applications can allow users to read, write, and sync access to their Yahoo Address Book, which is one of the biggest address books on the web.

"We’ve completely reengineered the existing Contacts API and added more useful functionality for developers," says Yahoo Social Platforms Product Manager Shirish Anand.

LinkedIn Links to Recent Contacts, Redefines Recent

On Friday, I wondered what happened to a favorite LinkedIn feature for viewing recent users. I received two subsequent emails from customer service, only to find out I was wrong about the feature because of LinkedIn’s questionable grammar. The semantic web’s a long way off if we can’t master our native languages’ semantics first.

Converting Web Site Home Buyers to First Contacts

According the National Association of Realtors(R) (“NAR”) surveys completed between 1999 and 2003, 66 percent of all home buyers stick with the first real estate agent they contact. The number one reason stated was that buyers perceive all real estate agents to be the same. This means that two out of every three contacts that you receive when you are the first contact, you are most likely to get the business.
