This is the first of a ten part tutorial.
It occurs to me that my accomplishments (and other entereprenuers lack thereof) are often due to basic sales savvy that is greatly lacking in many online marketing companies: Now that more and more business is conducted online, there is a gap between supply and demand that can only be filled with a knowledge of how and why people make decisions to buy, or not to buy as the case may be. This is the first in a ten part series:
The Writing Style of Your Company’s Blog
I was honored to speak yesterday on corporate blogging in DC, as a joint event put on by Merry Bruns and DC Web Women. The two other speakers, Scott Briscoe of ASAE, and Lorelei Brown of the Natl Association of Realtors, are both longtime bloggers and we had a great time sharing our experience on how the business world looks at blogging.
Gain Traction and Authority for Your SEO Company
Around the time that I developed Rockyfied Rand had created and developed a system called YOUmoz. Youmoz is a hybrid version of the seomoz.org blog. Over the last 2 years Rand Fishkin and his blogtastic cohorts have been laying down highly informative and education posts on SEO, SEM, Internet Marketing and much more.
The Value of Company Sites
A recurring theme here at the New Communications Forum (in Las Vegas) is the value of corporate websites.
Investing in PPC Marketing or SEO – a Company Decision
As click costs rise, many companies who are already investing in active pay per click marketing campaigns are looking toward hiring a search engine optimization company to supplement their marketing portfolio in order to increase their exposure and reduce their advertising spend.
Google Acquiring Video Game Ad Company
Google has agreed to acquire Adscape, a company that puts ads inside of video games, for $23 million. Google had missed out on Massive, a company Microsoft picked up for $200-400 million about a year ago, and is going to have to settle for the much smaller Adscape, which it will have to build into a bigger player. Judging by Google’s great success with dMarc, I’d assume nothing at this point.
Mobile Company Offers Free Internet Calls
Challenger mobile, a global telecom service, has unveiled a feature that will speed the process of registering with the company.
When customers complete their one-page online registration and activate their account they will receive all the settings they need to start using the service via text message.
Are Short-term Contracts Damaging to Your Company?
Why do managers use temporary contracts and agency staff? Sometimes it is for short-term projects.
Google Expected To Invest In Chinese Company
Google may have made friends with Shenzhen Xunlei Network Technology Ltd., a Chinese company that deals in online videos. Reports indicate that Google will invest in the company, although there are no details yet about the alleged deal.
Sometimes Company Bloggers Aren’t Enough
The beating Microsoft is taking in the blogosphere and elsewhere over a patent filing leads me to wonder whether this isn’t an instance where some solid, formal communication might be in order.
