How Yahoo Search Assistant Changes SEO

On Tuesday Yahoo became the last of the four major search engines to offer blended search. Last, but definitely not least as Yahoo’s Search Assist may just be the killer app to get some switching back from Google. Search Assist also has the potential for changing a few things when it comes to optimizing for Yahoo as people begin to unknowingly build more advanced queries.

Recent Changes on Google

For those who read this with an interest in SEO, I’ve noticed a few interesting changes on Google over the past week.
Firstly, Google seems to have tweaked the algo so that keyword domains have lost a little of their dominance. So just because “blue-widgets.com” is an established, if poorly built and promoted site, it no longer seems to have automatic rights to rank No.1 on searches for “blue widgets”.

Changes Abound For Google India

It’s a mixed bag of good news, bad news, and just plain “news” news for Google in India this week.  One piece from the region describes the company’s expansion in glowing terms; another reports that its site ranked low in terms of usability.  Lastly, there’s a new man in place to deal with all this: Shailesh Rao was appointed managing director of sales and operations for Google India.
