Martin Changes Tune On Broadband Smut-Filter

In his final days as chairman of the FCC, Kevin Martin appears to have done an about face on a proposed content filter for free wireless broadband. After opposition killed the original plan, Martin has placed a new proposal, sans smut-filter, on the table for review at the next and final FCC meeting on January 15. Perhaps it’s an attempt to end his tenure on a high note by doing something very positive for the nation—auctioning off spectrum to a wireless provider that can serve up wireless broadband to 95 percent of the country.

How Google Changes Its Ranks From Day To Day

Rankings are in everflux more than ever…hey that sounds weird. Meaning the ranking constantly seem to be moving around for many 2-3 keyword phrases. So when some SEO’s run these ranking reports it really just takes a “picture” of where the website currently ranks. I would like to explain how Google can easily Photoshop that picture (ranking) into something else:

Yahoo Makes Minor Changes To Advertisement Layout

According to Search Engine Roundtable Yahoo! has incorporated some minor changes in the advertisement layout of its SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) and has also reduced the number of advertisements shown in the SERPs. They have now relocated the position of the display URL under the description. The advertisement layout now also contains only three advertisements, instead of four as in the previous layout.
