Google has stepped up its efforts to lobby the FCC to free up broadcast white spaces for unlicensed wireless broadband use by launching FreeTheAirwaves.com. The site provides information about uses for white spaces and invites supporters to sign an online petition to the FCC.
AT&T, Verizon Oppose Google Over Airwaves
Google’s used to arguing with Microsoft, and the Mountain View-based company has had many dustups with Yahoo. Now AT&T and Verizon have stepped in, however, and are opposing Google’s plans for the airwaves.
Google Invades the Airwaves
Google announced in a corporate blog that it has officially begun beta testing its Audio Ads marketing platform. Earlier this year, the company acquired dMarc Broadcasting as part of its plans to crossover into radio advertising.
