EDM and Web 2.0
One of my favorite BI bloggers, Cyril Brookes, had an interesting post today – What Does Web 2.0 Really Mean for BI’s Future?.
Web 2.0 for Event Promotion
How do you leverage a the Web and Internet marketing to promote your upcoming event? There are so many channels of distribution, the possibilities are almost endless. Here’s a checklist of what I did to promote an upcoming workshop I’m teaching at flyte called "How to Plan, Build and Promote a Business Blog."
Pics from Advanced PR Technology in Practice
The Bulldog Reporter Advanced PR Technology in Practice in San Francisco wrapped up and here are a few photos. One thing is for sure, I need to buy a new camera. Another thing is that the event started out with lots of conversation about using SEO to drive “pull” PR efforts and ended heavy on the social media. It was a great match for TopRank: SEO and social media for public relations.
Scoble’s “Fake Steve Jobs” Story
Here’s my Fake Steve Jobs story (Fake Steve Jobs is a blog that pretends it’s written by Apple CEO/co-founder Steve Jobs. It got popular this year and recently it was revealed that a Forbes Magazine employee is its author).

Where is OSS Heading?
Okay, so not everyone agrees about my claim that the support-based OSS business model does not scale. 🙂
Reputation Management & Legal Threats
When a company’s reputation comes under attack, it can be tempting to bring in the company attorney and fire off a "cease and desist" letter. Unless you’re responding to something that is clearly libelous, trying to cover up your mess by threatening the messenger usually backfires–in a big way.
McDonald’s Benefits From Monopoly Traffic
In my mind, McDonald’s is a fast food joint; although I might have assumed a website existed, it was of no importance. But traffic to that site has greatly increased in recent days, due (probably) to the annual Monopoly game.
