I’m surprised that even Kara Swisher has missed this. The bloggers are going nuts, once again, over the email that a Google lawyer sent to Microsoft regarding Microsoft’s proposed purchase of Yahoo. Here’s what’s really going on:

Some Pennsylvania bureaucrats have lost their minds, probably somewhere in the stack of papers their shuffling, after noticing how much money the state was losing by not enforcing an arcane law established long before anybody ever heard of eBay.

YouTube Used By Police For Leads

The Arlington County Police Department in Virginia is using YouTube to help catch criminals. Surveillance video from crime scenes is being uploaded to the Web site in an effort to receive leads and identify suspects. A two- minute video of a bank robbery received more than 1,000 hits and could be responsible for providing a lead in the case.

Microsoft: We Love the Yahoo Brand

Microsoft, in its conference call Friday regarding the Yahoo offer, said that “We love the Yahoo brand”, when asked about what would happen to MSN and Windows Live.
