Mobile search is increasing in both popularity and frequency in the U.S. and Western Europe.In June 2008, 20.8 million U.S. mobile subscribers and 4.5 million European mobile subscribers used mobile search during the month, an increase of 68 and 38 percent from June 2007, respectively, according to comScore M: Metrics.The U.K. had the highest penetration of mobile subscribers using search at 9.5 percent, trailed closely by the U.S. at 9.2 percent.

Best Buy will have some music to offer alongside all that portable gadgetry soon. The company announced this morning the acquisition of Napster for $121 million in cash.
World Association of Newspapers Tries to Block Google-Yahoo! Deal
A couple weeks ago, Google said it would go forward with its proposed deal with Yahoo!, which would see Google supplying ads to Yahoo!, if the U.S. Department of Justice had not yet blocked them from doing so. In other words, they aren’t gong to wait for an investigation to play out before they begin.
WSJ.com Launches Redesign
The Wall Street Journal will introduce a new redesign to its Web site WSJ.com on Tuesday that will offer more social networking features and improved navigation.The Journal Community will allow the company’s 1 million or so paid subscribers to comment on articles, ask experts questions, and join discussion groups.
Apple Declares War on Sneaker Hackers
The IPod Nano and Nike TM shoe was a great idea for people to listen to music as they walk, and get information on how much they walked during the time the two systems were synched. Apple has decided to declare war against sneaker hackers, and have a patent to work out if the system of nano and sensor is an “authorized garment”.

Amazon has stolen away Microsoft senior ad exec Lisa Ultzschneider leaving us all to wonder just what kind of advertising aspirations the company has.
