Rethink Your Navigation Flow
A Site Review Of Gaslamp.org By Bill Bradbury of Identify.com.
First and most notably is the omission of an “about” page. Visiting this page for the first time I really wasn’t sure what I was looking at. Even though you have a statement “an eclectic…” I’m not sure what the site is for, what does it do for me and why would I come back?
Running Out Of Disk Space
I am continuously running out of disk space – I have deleted temp files, etc. This resulted in a small amount of relief. I found lots of Cookies files and Temp files in Windows directory. Can/should all of these be deleted? If so, what’s the quickest way?
Thanks

Attract Buyers to Your Web Site with Power Words

Content First
A Site Review Of Gaslamp.org By James Brown of VirtualTint.com.
The first thing I notice upon entering is the title, and layout. If there’s one thing you want on the first page of a site, it’s to know what the site’s about well apart from the tags and search criteria. Gaslamp pulls it off well by having the discreet short line lingering unobtrusively yet clearly with the title.
The Problem With Double Opt-In?
There are many who believe that using a double opt-in procedure to add subscribers, members, or names to a list is necessary to be sure that you are only signing up those who really want to be signed up. I disagree.
Can a Trojan Cause Outlook Express to Hang?
Quesiton: I am using MS Windows Pro on a laptop with Intel 850Mhz and 256MB RAM connected to the Internet using cable. Using Norton Personal Internet Security.
I was cleaning up some messages in my inbox (Outlook Express). I tried to delete a message from “MAILER-DAEMON@mail09b.bellsouth-hosting.net” the subject failure notice. Each time I clicked on it my computer froze and I got the message that the program was not responding and had the option to end now or cancel. Cancel never did anything but End Now would close Outlook Express. Then a little while after that I noticed on my Internet security several messages that said “rule default block backdoor/subseven trojan horse matched.” Could this be connected? What should I do?
Thanks,

The “Less Is More” Tease
A Site Review Of Gaslamp.org By Jonathan Hilgeman of SiteCreative.com.
Two thumbs up for the front page. It feels JUST right! The black background and the jazz/trumpet player goes hand-in-hand with the idea of a fun night for me, and I’m not even that much into jazz.
No White Text On A Black Background
A Site Review Of Gaslamp.org By Michael E. Black of Tec-Inc.com.
My first observation was the black background with white text. White text is very difficult to read on any background color. So anywhere on the site where a choice is made to white text, my vote is to change the plan. White text should only be considered when it is large bold lettering done for emphasis. You do not want your patrons to be straining to read your content.
EQ–For the Agony and the Ecstasy
“The Agony and the Ecstasy” is the title of a novel about Michelangelo, by Irving Stone. When I encountered the title in middle school, I decided to read the book to find out what “agony” and “ecstasy” might be like, states of existence apparently available to uber-humans like Michelangelo. I was sure I had not experienced them.
