YouTube Attracts 100 Million U.S. Viewers

Online video continues to make gains in the U.S. with Internet users viewing 14.8 billion videos during the month of January, representing an increase of 4 percent over December, according to comScore.
YouTube was the most popular property, accounting for 91 percent of the incremental gain in the number of videos viewed versus December, as it exceeded 100 million viewers for the first time.

Google has launched some new features for Google Health that could potentially save lives in times of personal crisis. For one, they’ve included the option for sharing Google Health profiles.

This means if you keep your profile up to date with any medication and medical history, you can share it with your loved ones so they can answer questions for doctors or other medical professionals in times of emergency.

Generation Y At Higher Risk For Online Identity Theft

People in Generation Y tend to be at a higher risk for online identity theft, but are less concerned with the threat than those in Generation X and Baby Boomers, according to the J.D. Power and Associates Identity Theft Report.
Online conversations about identity theft indicate that 83 percent of the Baby Boomer generation (those between the ages of 45 and 63) say they have a high level of concern about identity theft, compared to 79 percent of those in Generation X (ages 31 to 44) and only 47 percent of those in generation Y (ages 19 to 30).

Google Maps To Catch MapQuest By End Of The Year

Even with the strong growth of portable navigation devices, online mapping sites remain popular for trip planning, local search and written direction.
The current global number of 300 million unique visitors is expected to grow at annual rate of 15 percent in the coming years, according to ABI research.
In the U.S. MapQuest and Google are competing for market leadership, leaving Yahoo Maps and Microsoft Live Search Maps trailing.
