PR and Telling the Truth
What a topic for a debate! This took place at the University of Westminster in London last Tuesday:
Leading figures of the UK PR world are to hold a debate at the University of Westminster on whether ‘PR has a duty to tell the truth’.
The result? According to Martin Moore who was there:
Getting Searchers to Click
We’ve explored what catches searchers’ eyes on the search results page. The next step is the click.
What makes searchers click a particular result?
MediaSnacking
Christian Long’s son is a cute little Mediasnacker. I like that term. It’s what I’m doing today. Snacking on media.
While snacking on media I found Rick Segal’s post about a fatal mistake a startup made (handing out too many shares before they were funded).
Sound Bite Blogging
For those people who blog daily or semi daily is there an optimal post length that keeps people reading regularly without feeling overwhelmed?
I fully admit to being a member of the short attention span generation. My life is busy enough I don’t need long introductions, set ups, or window dressing, just give me the goods and let me move on. For those of you who read this blog regularly or, to be more accurate, any SEO blog regularly, you’ll recall that back on February 5th Yahoo! launched it’s new advertising system Panama. As one could expect, the changes have been monitored closely by Yahoo!
ComScore today released their finding on the changes in click through rates on Yahoo! ads. And they are:
High Tech School in Silicon Valley to Close
Here’s an email I got from a friend who’s an executive at a Silicon Valley company.
China Gmail Says To Google: “No Sale”
The owners of the domain Gmail.cn, a top-level domain in China, have offers on the table from Google, but so far they have dug in and refused to sell.
FireScope Puts Google Maps To Use
A company called FireScope is using Google Maps to help its customers keep an eye on things, and although things aren’t off to the strongest possible start – FireScope currently has just seven customers – it’s a very interesting idea.
