The answer to the question “Where are we going?” has never been so uncertain. That’s probably not true, what I just said—likely every generation walks that line of dread. Our generation, if we were to follow Dave Taylor, would end up where he did eventually—at some future crossroads equally uncertain—but we’d surely arrive there by different roads.

We (everybody, I’m guessing) are currently floating along the digital tide, peering out through the translucent and pliable—but potentially fragile—vistas of Web 2.0, the rubble of the revolution baking on a treeless island behind us, the glistening, mineral-rich sand of possibility strewn along the shoreline just over the lip of the bow—whichever direction the bow lay in a bubble.
Google: Yahoo! Deal Not Bad For Competition
The other day, Eric Schmidt blamed Microsoft for fanning the flames of controversy over Google’s proposed advertising deal with Yahoo!. He did also note, however, that Google had probably failed to explain the deal well enough, and that this had contributed to said controversy as well.
Rumor: Dmoz Selling To BOTW
Jeremy Schoemaker, of the popular Shoemoney blog, posted that the owners of Best of the Web Directory are in talks to buy Dmoz from AOL and that a "deal could be reached fairly soon."
Twitter Redesign a Placeholder for Functionality

Social media geeks, myself included, have been looking for/waiting for the “Twitter Killer” to emerge over the last few months. While Twitter’s famous crashes seem to have lessened, the stream of consciousness style doesn’t seem to facilitate effective conversations as well as we might hope.

Google Co-founder Sergey Brin has started a new personal blog called simply – Too. "While Google is a play on googol, too is a play on the much smaller number – two," writes Brin. "It also means ‘in addition’, as this blog reflects my life outside of work."
ebay Looking to Unload StumbleUpon?
TechCrunch is reporting eBay is trying to unload StumbleUpon, citing "sources with knowledge of the sale process." eBay is apparently using Deutsche Bank to find a suitable buyer, and the asking price has not been disclosed.
