Getting listed on Yahoo should be without doubt the most important mission on any Internet marketers mind.
Yahoo is the biggest of all the search engines, well actually that’s not true, you see Yahoo is not technically a search ENGINE it is a human compiled directory of websites and does not have a spider bot going to sites and indexing them. But for the sake of this article when I say search engines I am referring to all ‘search sites’.
Tick, tick, tick. That’s the sound of those all important 10 seconds slipping away – the average amount of time a visitor remains at a web site before clicking on.
That is, unless you give them a reason to stay.
Are people visiting your web site but not buying? This may be a sign and the time to do some redesign of your web site. Often you are so close to what you have created, that you can’t see obvious design mistakes. I often do the same when writing an article – everything looks fine when I have finished, yet when I review it the next day and I’m amazed at how many mistakes I have made.
The big question. Do you submit directly to the publishers, or do you find an agent who will do that for you? Based on anecdotal evidence I’ve heard, it can work either way. The bottom line is, if a publisher reads what he can sell, he’ll buy it. It doesn’t matter if it comes from an author or an agent. The trick is getting him to read it. That’s always your focus.
It’s time to create some leads for your company. You’ve gathered email addresses for your company newsletter (in which, of course, you publish practical, niche-specific information to double opt-in readers) and you’re ready to tell them how your product will help their company.
