With Thanksgiving just a few weeks’ away consumers are already starting to search for deals online.
Over the last seven days fifty percent of the top "Black Friday" related search terms include ads, sales and deals, according to Google Insights for Search.
Facebook User Count Now 325 Million (Or More)
On September 15th, Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook "now serves 300 million people across the world." It seems the site’s growth hadn’t exactly come to a stop, either, as about a month and a half later, stats indicate the number of users has risen to at least 325 million.
Nearly Half Of Consumers Would Recommend A Product On Facebook
Consumers are more willing to engage with and buy from brands on social networking sites, according to a new study by Performics and ROI Research.
The study found thirty-four percent of respondents who have used a search engine to find information on a product/brand after seeing an advertisement on a social networking site. In addition, thirty percent have learned about a new product, service or brand from a social networking site.
eBay And Skype Settle Litigation
eBay said Friday that the investor group led by Silver Lake has reached a settlement agreement with Joltid Limited and Joost N.V. that gives Skype ownership over all software licensed from Joltid and ends all litigation against the investor group and eBay at the closing of the acquisition.

Facebook Blocks More Ad Networks

Windows 7 Sales Outperform Vista Launch
Initial sales of Microsoft’s Windows 7 software outperformed those of Vista’s first few days on the U.S. market, according to the latest analysis from The NPD Group.
Windows 7 software unit sales in the U.S. were 234 percent higher than Vista’s first few days of sales. A combination of early discounts on pre-sales and a lack of promotional activity for the Ultimate version resulted in dollar sales that were 82 percent higher than Vista.
